The Literary Conference is an event at which all of my favorite writers and creators are getting together to talk about my music and what they mean to me. I'm flattered by this tribute, of course, but I feel a bit self-conscious about receiving so much consideration by my heroes, people who for me have opened up new ways of thinking about and listening to the worlds in which we exist. These songs are expressions of my gratitude to these great artists, characters and places, in the real world and in my memory.
